Setting deck height and calculating compression ratio. I do this for every piston/cylinder to confirm consistency across all four cylinders. •I ended up using a 0.010” shim to raise the cylinder to get a deck height I was comfortable with. I use a depth gauge and feeler gauge to measure the deck height. Deck height is 0.042” which should give us around an 8.2:1 compression ratio. •This compression ratio is within the recommended range for the cam I’m running, although on the lower end of the ran
