A local school district could be moving learning online if they reach six calamity days due to inclement weather.

District leaders say the move helps manage the school calendar, while some parents think students need traditional snow days.

Even the chancellor’s own son is pushing for a return to traditional snow days, but Kamar Samuels said the city is sticking to its policy to go virtual if needed.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said schools will either remain open for in-person instruction on Monday or shift to remote learning if school buildings are closed.
